Motorcycle collisions cause a wide variety of injuries. Some relatively lucky riders escape with very little if any injuries; perhaps damage was done to their bike. Across the United States in 2009, more than 84,000 riders sustained significant injuries in traffic collisions, and 4,595 fatalities for motorcyclists were reported. But in states that ensure helmets are properly used and fitted, fatalities decrease.
