Beginner Stunt Kites
Flying sport kites is an obsession for many kite enthusiasts, both young and old. Also known as stunt kites, these kites are far from being identical to the regular kites. They are designed to fly in wider spaces and have more abilities than the ordinary kites. If mastered properly, they can do tosses, rounds, flicks and several different techniques. Unlike the usual kites wherein one can just run and watch them ride the winds, these advanced kites would require another person to assist in starting to get them to fly. As these kites are made from most lightweight materials, they can be flown by a slow breeze. However, for a smoother and steadier flying experience, it is best to fly them during a windy day and in an open space far from obstacles like tall trees, buildings, electric wires, etc.
Newbies will need to consider a few factors when buying beginner stunt kites. One important factor to consider is the kites’ control lines. The length of the kite’s control lines affects the user’s ability to control the kite. The longer the control lines, the more time there is to control the kite’s movements. Shorter ones are ideal for those who have already mastered the kite’s controls, which is an acquired skill from ample kite flying experience. This skill relies on the user’s hand to eye dexterity. So as a beginner, make sure to choose a length that is most suitable for a newbie’s ability in order to have power over the actions of the stunt kites.
Now, flying the Sport Kite would need a second person to assist in the launch by raising the kite and throwing it in the wind. Proper timing must be considered when flying beginner stunt kites, which cannot be achieved with a few tries. Therefore, it is important to be diligent in all kite launching attempts and to learn from each of them in order to discover the perfect timing.
After the kite has successfully been initiated into the air, it is important to understand the correct way of controlling it. Just like in its launch, effective maneuvering of stunt kites need proper timing. The kite pilot only needs to steer by pulling the control lines to the left or to the right depending on the direction he chooses his kite to go. Learning this simple steering is one of the basic actions that must be mastered in order to manage beginner stunt kites. Another steering action is to pull the controls and move backward to make the kite fly faster. To slow it down, reverse the action by moving towards the direction of the kite. For landing, steering from left to right and vice versa will slowly reduce the kite’s motion until it falls to the ground.
Flying and controlling stunt kites are no easy tasks. Even the expert kite pilots encounter some difficulties in flying their kites from time to time. However, it is important not to give up on this fun yet challenging hobby. In order to master this task, one needs consistent practice and full comprehension of the behavior of beginner stunt kites which can only be achieved by consistent trial and errors. The entire process of learning will prove to be worthy of time once fulfillment and pleasure is achieved by the kite pilot.
