Do you envy kids who ride on the AA circuit?
Do you envy kids who ride on the AA circuit?
if so why or whats your opinion on them? just curious.
yeah aready asked this want more answers
Easy guys no fighting! And I agree not all horses are made on the AA circuit
i try not to be envious of anyone. i ride once a week, if i’m lucky. i won’t get to that level for years, if ever. i’ve been riding for 6 years now and only jumped 2′ at the highest. i can’t even afford to half lease a horse. i try to not compare myself to other riders and say “i want to be just like them!”. that just leads to a let down. and i’m all about what i can do at home. i may never jump 3’6″ at a show, but if i can do it in perfect form at home, i’m the happiest girl in the world. and the only reason i would envy those riders is because i would want their stability in the saddle and their years of experience with horses (or at least that’s how it should be). whenever i look at showjumping, i always gawk at meredith michaels-beerbaum’s lower leg and how perfect it is. and i admire beezie’s courage to get back on after she flies off authentic. so i don’t envy the riders. i envy their seats and legs and careful eye. i want to be the best horsewoman i can possibly be, and by identifying what’s good in these riders, i can set a goal for my riding. sorry this was long and a little cheesy, but it’s not often i get to express this and i never hear it said. thanks for the question

ok, in order to do well at that high of a level, the horses these girls ride have to be pretty well “made”. they may not start like that, especially if you’re short on funds. but in the end, we all want a horse that is responsive, sharp and a joy to ride. all of these things are mandatory in a good show horse and any lacking these qualities will get their rider placed out of the ribbons, unless the rider is of such a high caliber that they can downplay their horse’s downfalls and emphasize their great qualities. yes, i’ve seen riders that are given horses and would have a very hard time handling anything that isn’t perfect or well trained. i suppose indigo has only been exposed to these riders, which shows that she hasn’t travelled as much or that she sees what she chooses and not what’s there. but i’m sure she’s seen a fair share of the “spoiled” kids. but a good judge will know what test and manuevers to ask for and how to weed out the “pretenders” and put the best riders first. and sierra, you’ve obviously been places and seen a lot. i wish everyone was as dedicated to her horses, their welfare and their training. i wish you and your babies luck
hopefully we’ll see more riders and trainer like you.
